| Since
our inception in 1925, we have prided ourselves on a firmly
established reputation for quality metal roofing. We have
made significant investments in modern machinery to maximize
both functional and aesthetic value in today's colored standing
seam metal roofs. We are confident that our double-locked
standing seam metal roof system is the longest lasting and
most functional system available for pitched roof applications.
Double-lock standing seam metal roof systems
are well-suited to Maine's ever-changing weather. The key
feature with our metal roof system that sets it apart from
most other roof systems is that there are no exposed fasteners
as they are hidden beneath the metal roof surface. Our metal
roof system is installed using 20 inch wide roof panels that
are machine fabricated on site from either 26 or 24 gauge
mill finish galvalume, 24 gauge color-coated galvalume with
a Kynar 500 finish, .032 color-coated aluminum with a Kynar
500 finish, or 16 ounce red copper. The roof panels are attached
to the roof deck with concealed cleats that are integrated
into a double-locked standing seam. All roof penetrations,
including skylights, vent pipes and chimneys are properly
flashed and incorporated into the metal roof panels.
Since our first installations of colored
metal roofs in the early 1980's, there have been significant
technological improvements and material advancements. We have
chosen to use rust-resistant galvalume that can withstand
chips, scratches and other minor damage that is common over
the course of a roof's lifetime. Technological developments
in the color coating of the galvalume now provides our customers
with a product that is ultra cool and meets current Energy
Star© specifications. The coated paint system reflects
UV rays and heat, providing a longer-lasting and more environmentally
friendly roof system. In addition, the Energy Policy Act that
Congress passed in 2005 allows a tax credit for homeowners
who install qualified energy-efficient improvements to an
existing home from 1/1/06 to 12/31/07. Our color color-coated
galvalume and aluminum roof systems meet this criterion. There
are more than 20 colors to choose from. We have included a
link to our metal suppliers’ color charts below.
With
our many years of experience and thousands of roof installations,
we have proven expertise installing standing seam metal roofing
on a variety of building types. Our metal roof systems are
suitable for commercial, public and residential buildings.
We recommend installing our metal roof system on structures
with a minimum roof slope of 2" / 12". Adequate
slope enhances a roof's ability to properly shed water, ice
and snow.
One significant benefit of a metal roof system
is its ability to shed ice and snow, effectively working to
minimize significant weight loads during winters with heavy
snows. In some cases, sliding of ice and snow over entrance
ways and parking areas can be a safety concern. In these instances,
we recommend installation of a snow guard system. This system
is functional and attractive, arresting sliding snow and ice
while maintaining a sleek design and a color coordinated appearance.
We have provided a link to the snow guard manufacturer's web
site below.
Our commitment to quality metal roof systems
is honored through a 10-year leak-free warranty on our workmanship.
The material supplier provides a 35-year metal and paint warranty
on the 24 gauge color-coated galvalume and a 25-year metal
warranty for the mill finish galvalume plus.
With more than 80 years of experience installing
standing seam metal roof systems, we are confident in the
product we provide to our customers. Our skilled roof craftsman
pride themselves in leak free, long lasting and aesthetically
pleasing roof systems. We take pride in maintaining our hard
earned reputation as the premier metal roofing company in
Maine.
